The artists Robberto and Milena Atzori officially became a duo in 2017, almost six years ago. Though the couple lives in Ghent, Belgium, both are Italian. Robberto grew up in Cagliari, Sardinia’s largest town, while Milena grew up on the mainland, in Chiaromonte, a point between Italy’s heel and toe. Together the pair creates art that blends painting, sculpture, and textiles. Their subject is the relationship between society and the individual. For this exhibition the pair have filled the gallery windows with stuffed creatures, which they’ve also painted and embroidered. Passersby will be struck by the colorfully crowded space, a commentary on the illusion of individual identity. —Elena Clavarino
