Americans have been so busy celebrating the U.S.’s semiquincentennial that we forgot Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday. The Brits, however, did not. To celebrate, the late queen’s personal apartments at the Palace of Holyroodhouse—the Royal Family’s Edinburgh residence—are opening to the public for the first time. Visitors will have access to the dining room reserved for the Queen and Prince Philip’s breakfasts (how nice), the sitting room where she worked, and her closet, where a selection of outfits she wore for nearby occasions still hang. Get there quickly—the apartments will only be accessible until September. —Jeanne Malle
