Portugal. The Man is feeling it still. He has a major underplay coming up at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, a spacious venue in Brooklyn that maintains its intimacy. I first saw the Alaskan rock band years ago at the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware. They had a large, full-band set on one of the main stages, and later in the night performed a smaller acoustic set on a small stage tucked away in the trees. Each performance was wonderful in its own way. Their groove is engrained, and comes across in consistent, tight, and emphatic live delivery. This year brings a new single, “Angoon,” and it contains four new tracks. —Henry McGrath
