Last year the world’s cultural institutions celebrated the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt’s death. This year, celebratory exhibitions have moved to our homes and computer screens. To help pass the time, the Rijksmuseum offers art enthusiasts over 164,000 pictures from its famed collection. Among 11 featured closeups are Rembrandt’s The Night Watch (1642) and Vermeer’s The Milkmaid (c. 1657–58). —E.C.
