“I was considered a b*tch in this society. Since I met John—I was upgraded into a witch.” One to One: John and Yoko looks for the first time at a tumultuous time in the couple’s respective careers. Revolving around a charity concert for special needs children, which they put on at Madison Square Garden, Kevin Macdonald’s documentary reveals conversations and footage that have never before been made public. This concert was not only Lennon’s last full-length performance, it was also the only one the couple ever did together—electrifying and invigorating. The energy John and Yoko brought to New York in 1972 inspired generations to visit the city. When asked how they want to be remembered, Lennon responds, “Just as two lovers.” He got what he wanted and more. —Henry McGrath
