In 1978, “Le Freak” was made chic by Nile Rodgers, whose band, CHIC, was so-titled for its sleek 70s style—wide-lapel suits, silky halter dresses—and even smoother sound. Despite the demise of disco balls, Rodgers’s influence hasn’t dimmed. This festival, helmed by Rodgers, sees CHIC joined by fresh and inventive electro-pop acts such as SOPHIE— “9 (After Coachella)” is a must-listen—and LCD Soundsystem. —C.J.F.
