Nightly Met Opera Streams

Nov 30, 2020 – Dec 31, 2021
30 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023, USA

“I have measured out my life in coffee spoons,” says the voice in T. S. Eliot’s poem “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” During this pandemic, many of us are measuring out our evenings in online operas, ballets, and other art forms. Hard to believe, but this December the Met is up to weeks 39 through 42 of free opera programming—and the weeks are themed! December 7 to 13 is “In Plain English,” and includes operas by Adams, Britten, Gershwin, Weill, and more. December 14 to 20 is “Epic Proportions”—Samson et Dalila, Lohengrin, Les Troyens, Francesca da Rimini, Boris Godunov, Nabucco, and Götterdämmerung. December 21 to 27 is “Holiday Fare”—among the offerings are The Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel, and The Merry Widow. And December 28 to January 3 is “Pavarotti Week.” So visit the site and check your calendar. All Nightly Met Opera Streams begin at seven-thirty P.M. E.T., and remain available for 23 hours. The performances are also accessible on all Met Opera on Demand apps. —L.J.
