After spawning a hugely popular mystery-book series, Richard Osman’s original best-seller, The Thursday Murder Club, has now received a movie adaptation. It’s about four retirees who meet weekly to investigate cold cases, then suddenly find themselves face-to-face with a real whodunit. Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire, Home Alone, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) directs, and the cast includes Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley. Ahead of the film’s Netflix premiere, 92Y is hosting a screening at Manhattan’s Paris Theater, followed by a conversation with Mirren, Brosnan, Kingsley, and Columbus. —Julia Vitale
