Morlot Conducts Messiaen

June 2–4, 2022
200 University St, Seattle, 98101, United States

Arches! Bryce Canyon! Zion! Whether you have trod the Biblical landscapes of Utah’s National Parks or not, Olivier Messiaen’s gigantic tone poem Des canyons aux étoiles … (From the Canyons to the Stars…) will transport you there. Lodovic Morlot, former music director of the Seattle Symphony and now its conductor emeritus, has a magic touch with Messiaen’s music. And for those who do not see color in sound as the composer did, the artist Deborah O’Grady has prepared an interactive visual component to help buzz your brain. —Matthew Gurewitsch
