On the one-year anniversary of her death, “Mary Beth Edelson: A Celebration” remembers Edelson’s groundbreaking contributions to art and the Feminist Movement. Her career began in the 1970s, with her iconic “Woman Rising” series: she photographed herself naked and then did various drawings upon the same image of that empowered body. Edelson worked in a range of mediums that included painting, collage, drawing, photography, and performance. Merging art with activism, she was a force working to dismantle the traditional power structure. This exhibition explores Edelson’s wide ranging and implacable practice. —Clara Molot
