​​Fernanda Coppel’s play King Liz, which had its 2015 premiere at the Atlantic Theater Company in Manhattan, is now on the West Coast. The show centers on Liz Rico, a fierce sports agent contending with the rampant racism and sexism of her industry. Her boss, Mr. Candy, pressures her to sign a new client: Freddie Luna, a high school basketball wunderkind whose dribbling skills are far more advanced than his emotional maturity.
