Independent 20th Century is an art fair with a simple premise: everything on view was made between 1900 and 2000, and every gallery has been invited to bring a curated exhibition rather than a commercial booth. This year, the fair moves to the Breuer building on Madison Avenue. Designed by Marcel Breuer, it’s the fortress that housed the Whitney for decades—which means there’s considerably more room. —Elena Clavarino
