In the latest film from the writer-director Azazel Jacobs (French Exit), three adult sisters gather in their dying father’s New York apartment to be with him during his final days of home hospice care. The family reunion is less than warm. The sisters—played by Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne, and Elizabeth Olsen—tiptoe around the claustrophobic apartment in prickly silence. Between old family resentments and the horror of their father’s impending death, the simmering tensions inevitably boil over, forcing the sisters to hash out years of trauma in the film’s emotional climax. Coon, Lyonne, and Olsen are in perfect form as they chisel through layers of dysfunction to find their way back to each other, just in time to say goodbye. —Paulina Prosnitz
