Few Liverpudlians can pull off an American country album. Ringo Starr is the exception. The legendary drummer, with his 60s mop top and Chelsea boots, fell in love with the genre as a teenager—so much so that he once described himself as “the country guy in The Beatles.” Now, sporting cowboy boots and a hat, he returns with his 22nd studio album (and second country record), Long Long Road—a follow-up to his 2025 album Look Up. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the 10-track project features collaborations with Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Molly Tuttle, and Sarah Jarosz. A country Starr is born, if you will. —Carolina de Armas
