William Shakespeare’s Henry V, written around 1599, tells the story of a young and newly crowned English king who is eager to assert his newfound power. In the beginning of the play the heir to the French throne provokes Henry V, who responds by attacking France. Many deaths later, the play ends with Henry V’s marriage to the Princess of France. Director Holly Race Roughan’s production of the play, which just finished a critically acclaimed run at Shakespeare’s Globe, is on at Leeds Playhouse for a limited run. Oliver Johnstone stars as Henry. —Jensen Davis
