Over an eight-month period, 15 New York City-area high school students traipsed around neighborhoods, applying what they had learned in workshops about the history and techniques of photography. They snapped street stills and intimate indoor scenes in color, and caught the multiculturalism of their communities in black and white. In the Studio Museum Harlem’s first online-only exhibition, their efforts are on display. “I use photography to process my thoughts and emotions,” explains young Anju Lukose-Scott, “and reflect on the world around me.” —E.C.
