Bentonville, Arkansas, a quaint town just a few miles from the Missouri border, is home to the Walton family, descendants of the man who founded a variety store in 1950 and built it into the retail giant Walmart—Sam Walton. To put Bentonville on the map, Walton’s grandsons launched an art and music festival in 2022, located on their 250-acre property. For this year’s festival, the second, they’ve invited the curators Roya Sachs, Mafalda Millies, and Elizabeth Edelman, of TRIADIC, to help focus the events. In September, the festival welcomes over 15,000 attendees. Major D.J.s are on the lineup—LCD Soundsystem, Jamie XX, and Bob Moses—but there will also be art installations by JR, Toiletpaper magazine, and Jonah Freeman + Justin Lowe.
