Every spring, the garden maze at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini blossoms. This spring, three stone sculptures settled among the greenery. They are part of the “Expanded” project, which is part of the “First Stone” Program. Far heavier than flowers, the stone sculptures—by Marina Abramović, Carsten Höller, and Julião Sarmento—are meant to expand conceptions of time, space, and scale. —C.J.F.
