Summer beckons, which means trips to the French Riviera, brightly-colored spritzes, and long, leisurely days of sun. In line with their philosophy of solaire (solar) and that familiar orange label, the legendary champagne house Veuve Clicquot has partnered with Magnum Photos to create a sweeping group exhibition dedicated to—you guessed it—the sun. Eight featured artists were all given one prompt: to convey through photography emotions inspired by the sun. The result is 40 new images taken in eight different countries, from Mexico to Iran, all capturing manifestations of sunlight. “We often say in photography that without light there is no photograph,” said Lindokuhle Sobekwa, one of the eight featured artists, “and without the sun there is no life.” —Paulina Prosnitz
