A new four-part Netflix documentary tells the real—and equally unhinged—story behind HBO’s Succession. Directed by Liz Garbus, whose credits include Harry & Meghan, the series Dynasty: the Murdochs goes from Rupert’s beginnings to the crowning of son Lachlan as his successor. The Murdochs themselves declined to be interviewed for the documentary. But long-term Murdoch chroniclers Gabriel Sherman and Matthew Belloni, Murdoch employees, and even Hugh Grant (who, after his sex-worker scandal, recalls being followed around Los Angeles by a News of the World reporter) add color to the family saga that just keeps giving. —Paulina Prosnitz
