As the Nigerian-born British designer Duro Olowu told The New York Times Style Magazine in 2015, “I’ve always just done my own thing and made it different.” Since then his designs—cut from signature prints in electric stripes, florals, and patchworks—have gained international recognition for their immaculate eccentricity. With photographs, paintings, and sculptures pulled from Chicago’s visual culture, Olowu curates a Windy City art-and-design scene that includes his own ensembles. —E.C.
