Drawn from the museum’s enormous archive, a mesmerizing 150 works on paper, dating from 1850 to 1950, are now on view. Artists in the show include Van Gogh, Monet, Seurat, Picasso, and Mondrian. What did they draw? Slices of the mundane, from the labor of fishermen to the quiet lives of dancers. The images may be rendered in quick pencil strokes, but they inhabit the same world as painted masterpieces. —E.C.
