“Ah, pray make no mistake, / We are not shy. / We’re very wide awake, / The moon and I.” So sings Yum-Yum in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. And so sings the exhibition “Drawing Down the Moon,” which is wide awake to the lunar presence in art both old and new, eastern and western. On view are pieces drawn from institutional collections in Los Angeles. The objects reach back to antiquity and come up to the present day. —Laura Jacobs
