Bruce Norris’s latest play is set in a home for registered sex offenders, all of whom have abused at least one child—and it’s a comedy. The play focuses on Fred (Francis Guinan), a 70-year-old man confronted by his former student Andy (Tim Hopper), whom he raped. Norris, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2011 for Clybourne Park, doesn’t defend these men, but he can sympathize with them (their windows are boarded up because of bullets aimed at the house). Playwrights Horizon hosts the New York premiere of this provocative work. —Jensen Davis
