“I must have flowers,” said Claude Monet, “always, and always.” Actually, not always. In 1895, Monet spent two months in Norway because he wanted to paint snow-covered landscapes. He painted 28 pictures in the municipality of Baerum, and approached his icy subject as he did his haystacks—at different times of day and in different moods. This exhibition is a perfect fit for the Henie Onstad, which was founded by the impish Olympian ice princess and movie star, Sonja Henie, and her third husband, the shipping magnate Niels Onstad. The museum is home to the couple’s superb collection of modern art. —L.J.
