The artist Christopher Wool has lived in New York City since 1973, when he moved there from Chicago to become an artist. Over the last 15 years, however, he’s been increasingly drawn to West Texas—immense and empty, desolate and lonely—and now splits his time between New York City and Marfa. The desert landscapes are a continuation of his photographic practice and involve double exposures and silkscreened backgrounds. This exhibition, which inaugurates the gallery’s new location, presents Wool’s work in all its variety—from the Texas photographs to paintings and sculptures. —Elena Clavarino
