Christopher Le Brun: Diptychs

Streaming on Lisson Gallery

“Painting,” writes Christopher Le Brun, “is seen in an instant—suddenly.” Challenging this notion, his layered oil and watercolor diptychs are painted in pairs—but in contrasting colors—which requires the viewer to compare, to go back and forth between them. Do we see the same story told in two different registers? Or two different stories? Appropriately, this exhibition will be displayed in two segments, each showcased for a three month run. —E.C.
