The title of this exhibition, “2.5D,” doesn’t refer to some obscure technology but to dimension. It’s the term artist Chen Zihao uses to describe his latest series, in which vibrant oil paintings in 2-D are superimposed with dimensional rocks, metals, and wood that jut out of the flat canvas. The effect is conceptual and surreal—objects and color planes floating over abstract lands. —E.C.
