Carousel

July 10 – Sept 28, 2020
150 West 65th Street, New York, NY 10023, United States

Last April, 99-year-old Captain Tom Moore conducted a walkathon in his own backyard and raised $40 million for British healthcare workers fighting on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic. To further inspire his countrymen, he released a cover of “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” the poignant anthem from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel (1945). Moore’s cover reached number one on the pop charts. During a time when so many feel alone, Lincoln Center has made the beloved Carousel available to stream. In this 2013 Live from Lincoln Center concert version, the New York Philharmonic is joined by stars of song and dance, among them Kelli O’Hara, Nathan Gunn, Shuler Hensley, Tiler Peck, and Robert Fairchild. —C.J.F.
