Blue Note at Home

With a neon-toned vibe franchised from Rio to Beijing, one is tempted to call it the Hard Jazz Cafe. Yet the Blue Note does deliver the goods, even in the present hard times—first doling out clips from its archives, and now jamming the calendar with livestreams from the homes of such notables as the 75-year-old Jamaican pianist Monty Alexander (May 14) and the 16-year-old Indonesian pianist Joey Alexander (May 16), both brimming with riffs that should prove infectious in all the right ways. —E.E.
