Beatriz González: A Retrospective

Oct 27, 2019 – Jan 20, 2020
1001 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005, USA

It wasn’t until recent years that Beatriz González—one of the founders of modern Colombian art—was introduced to a U.S. audience. Now a solo exhibition collects “the harrowing images” of the Bogotá-based artist, which, according to curator Mari Carmen Ramírez, “remain in our consciousness long after we have seen them.” The show, coming to Houston after its debut at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, features more than 100 works dating from the early 1960s to today, many of which have never before been seen outside of Colombia. —J.V.
