The Peninsula hotel opened its doors in Hong Kong almost 100 years ago, in December 1928, and it is still the city’s resident grande dame. Five years ago, the group unveiled a yearly contemporary art program, dedicated to commissioning dream projects from up-and-coming artists. For this year’s iteration, which is set to coincide with Hong Kong Art Week, the local artist Kingsley Ng has created the ethereal dream sculpture Esmeralda, which will float over the building’s facade. A large-scale Elise Morin sculpture, a video installation by Sara Woolfalk, and tech-inspired work by the emerging artist Lachlan Turczan are also on view. Bettina Prentice and Isolde Brielmaier serve as cultural advisors to the program. —Elena Clavarino
