Joe Nocera’s first venture into podcasting, The Shrink Next Door (2019), was personal—his neighbor, a psychiatrist, had been accused of abusing his relationships with his patients. Nocera now returns with a decidedly less personal but no less interesting topic: the 1922 alleged murder of Kitty Armstrong in the small town of Hay-on-Wye, Wales, said to have inspired Agatha Christie’s short story The Cornish Mystery (1923).
