Before she became known for her comic roles in Girls Trip, two Best Man movies, and five of the six Scary Movie installments, Regina Hall considered life as a nun or a journalist. If there’s a connection among those vocations, she says, it’s “a divine thread…. They all feel very purposeful.” That range is also reflected in her dramatic film roles, which include a revolutionary leader in One Battle After Another. New York magazine’s Vulture describes her on-screen presence as a “magnetic fusion of poise and charisma.” Hall’s latest project is The Five-Star Weekend, Peacock’s mini-series with Jennifer Garner and Chloë Sevigny about friendship and grief. It’s territory she knows well—though, she says, “you know what, I am too happy!” Here, she shares some of her best advice about staying positive, loving work, and taking care of her skin.
MORNING ROUTINE: To be honest, I’m not an early riser. When I’m not working, I wake up between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. I usually eat something light in the morning, like fruit or an apple and cucumber juice. It’s a nice, soft way to start the day.
