1B Cobb Ln, Corner Brook, NL A2H 2W9, Canada

Corner Brook, the largest town on Newfoundland’s west coast, makes a good base for exploring the region. Stay at the venerable Glynmill Inn, a Tudor Revival landmark built in 1923 to house the men overseeing construction of the town’s pulp-and-paper mill, with wood paneling, creaky floors, and touton—Newfoundland’s traditional fried dough—on the breakfast menu.
