Few know Saint-Moritz better than the German artist and designer Rolf Sachs. His father, the playboy Gunter Sachs—Brigitte Bardot’s former husband—put the town on the map in the 1970s when he took up residence in the tower suite of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. Today, Rolf runs Gunter’s legendary private nightclub, the Dracula Ghost Riders Club. During the winter months, he lives down the road in a converted former Olympic stadium, filled to the brim with his eclectic oeuvre.

He specializes in conceptual mixed-media work—ranging from photography to painting to installation—and has exhibited his wares everywhere from London’s Victoria & Albert Museum to the Design Miami fair in Basel. This July, the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt museum in Bavaria is presenting a solo show spanning three decades of his career.
