Bang! Crash! Yoko Ono breaks barriers. In a two-part exhibition, Fondation Phi encompasses 50 years of Ono’s “Why not?” approach to aesthetics and activism. Included are participatory works like her Mend Piece (1966), which asks viewers to repair broken cups with glue, tape, and string. “As you mend the cup,” Ono has said, “mending that is needed elsewhere in the Universe gets done as well.” Accounts of the 1969 Montreal Bed-in, a week of non-violent protest at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, round out the show. —E.C.
