Tourist In Your Own Town

May 1, 2020 – Sept 20, 2021
1 Whitehall St, New York, NY 10004, United States

Millions of tourists from around the world flock into New York City to take a bite of the Big Apple and a look at its historic landmarks. New Yorkers, however, will do anything to avoid these over-crowded sites, conducting their lives in a 10-block radius. Now that the city is empty and tourist attractions are shut, the Landmark Conservancy allows foreigners and New Yorkers to explore the city’s hidden gems on virtual tours. This video series includes Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace, the Brooklyn Historical Society, and The Prison Ship Martyr’s Monument, among many other unexpected offerings. —E.C.
