After more than a decade away from feature filmmaking, director Joe Swanberg, known for his micro-budget productions and frequent collaborations with New Girl star Jake Johnson, returns with The Sun Never Sets. The story takes place in Alaska, during the long summer days. Wendy (Dakota Fanning), who is in a relationship with Jack (Johnson), an older man, divorced with children, is thrown off stride when he suggests they take a break. Things become more complicated with the unexpected reappearance of Wendy’s ex-boyfriend, Chuck (Cory Michael Smith). Debby Ryan, Anna Konkle, and Lamorne Morris round out the ensemble. —Carolina de Armas
