Though The Office is widely regarded as a TV classic, it had a British precursor that debuted in 2001, set in the deathly dull Wernham Hogg office in Berkshire and written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The American version was initially seen as inferior, but fans grew to adore it. For those who still rewatch it endlessly: an ambitious spinoff is coming to Peacock in 10 parts, this time set at a struggling local newspaper in Ohio. The same crew that captured Michael Scott and friends will follow the tiny staff of The Toledo Truth Teller, led by a cast that includes Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore. Oscar Núñez, reprising his role as Oscar Martínez from The Office, is the only returning main cast member, now serving as the newspaper’s accountant. —Elena Clavarino
