Classics historian and The Rest Is History host Tom Holland took to X recently to hail Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey as “the best cinematic adaptation of a Greek myth I have ever seen.” Critics as well have uniformly praised the Oppenheimer director’s highly-anticipated take on Homer’s epic, which has already been compared to Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus alongside a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Anne Hathaway as his loyal wife, Penelope, Tom Holland (no relation to the historian) as his son, Telemachos, and Robert Pattinson as the villainous suitor Antinous.
