Simone: Woman of the Century

Elsa Zylberstein as Simone Veil in Simone: Woman of the Century.

December 4, 2023
22 E 60th St #1077, New York, NY 10022

Do you know the name Simone Veil? Everyone should. A Holocaust survivor, political leader, human rights and women’s rights activist, she was one of the most passionate figures of the last century. Veil died in 2017, at 89, and the director Olivier Dahan honors her legacy in his newest movie. Dahan is known for taking women seriously in his films, having previously focused on the famous females Edith Piaf (2007’s La Vie en Rose) and Grace Kelly (2014’s Grace of Monaco). A screening at FIAF followed by a Q&A with Elsa Zylberstein, one of the two actresses who plays the role of Veil, offers a unique view of a magnificent woman. —Jeanne Malle

This screening will take place at the FIAF’s Florence Gould Hall Theater
