In June, Taylor Swift predicted it would be a “Sabrina Summer.” Between the success of the candy-coated, innuendo-laced singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” her high-profile romance with the actor Barry Keoghan, and her headlining appearances at Coachella and on Saturday Night Live, Sabrina Carpenter appears to have fulfilled Swift’s prophecy. The 25-year-old former Disney star is keeping the momentum going with the release of her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet. Carpenter described it as “the hot older sister” of her 2022 album Emails I Can’t Send. Jack Antonoff, a frequent Swift collaborator, is credited with co-producing half of the tracks. After opening for Swift on several legs of the Eras tour this past year, Carpenter will begin promoting her new album with a global tour of her own, starting in September. —Paulina Prosnitz
