The Irish artist Sean Scully was a recent graduate from Newcastle University when he crossed the Atlantic in the 1970s, bringing his ideals to New York City. There he developed his rough-hewn grids of color, an abstraction saturated with mood and emotion. The last time Scully’s work was shown in Hong Kong, at the Arts Centre in 2018, the retrospective made waves. This exhibition presents seven new works. —Elena Clavarino
