For the first time, the Paul Taylor Dance Company is performing at the Joyce. This robust company usually appears at City Center or Lincoln Center, so it’s a distinct difference to see it in the more intimate Joyce space. Artistic director Michael Novak has put together a program of early works that date from 1957 to 1962—included is the beloved Aureole (1962), which presented Taylor as a modern Adam in the garden. The engagement features a world premiere and a New York premiere as well. —Laura Jacobs
