Nilufar: Salone del Mobile 2026

A lamp by Allegra Hicks, on view at Nilufar’s Depot.

Nilufar, the Milan gallery that Nina Yashar has built into a keen force in collectible design, is presenting two exhibitions during this year’s Salone del Mobile. At the Depot on Viale Lancetti, “Grand Hotel” turns the vast warehouse into an imagined hotel, with rooms designed by David/Nicolas, Allegra Hicks, and Filippo Carandini, and graced with hand-painted de Gournay wallcoverings, crochet-covered furniture, and new works by designers who include Bethan Laura Wood and Andrea Mancuso. At Via della Spiga, “La Casa Magica,” curated by Valentina Ciuffi with set design by Space Caviar, is more unsettling: a chrome bed frame twists out of shape, a mirror fractures across the wall, and familiar domestic objects made strange. —Elena Clavarino
