One tenor in three acts, each from a different opera, all with full sets and costumes on the most monumental excuse for an opera stage ever. That’s the pitch for this gala evening, and the scalpers must be in seventh heaven. What’s on, exactly? Mum’s the word for now, but you can bet the farm on some Verdi and Puccini. For the rest, Act Two of Carmen is a good bet. It’s the only non-Italian title on the program this year, so they’ve got the trimmings. Also, it’s got smashing material for the tenor. —Matthew Gurewitsch
