Harry Benson: The Beatles and Beyond

Oct 19, 2019 – Jan 19, 2020
Bolotnaya Naberezhnaya, 3, стр. 1, Moscow, Russia, 119072

Few of the world’s movers and shakers have escaped the lens of Scottish photojournalist Harry Benson. A new exhibition of his photographs—Russia’s first!—contains some of his most celebrated shots, including images of Jackie Kennedy in London, Valentino in New York, Richard Nixon and the Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev at the White House, and several photographs of the Beatles, whom Benson worked with in their most productive years. Highlights from his time with the band are a 1964 shot of the Beatles with the 22-year-old Muhammad Ali (then Cassius Clay) and “Pillow Fight,” taken the night the Beatles got the news that “I Want to Hold Your Hand” was number 1 on the American charts. —J.V.

Traveling to: Staley Wise, New York (December 12, 2019–January 26, 2020) and Holden Luntz, Palm Beach (December 14, 2019–January 4, 2020).
