Frieze Sculpture Exhibition

Sept 1 – Oct 2, 2020
Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10111, United States

Boulders. Birds. Flags. Flowers. Originally scheduled for Earth Day’s 50th anniversary last April 22nd, this long anticipated second edition of Frieze Sculpture was postponed by the pandemic. The issues the sculptures touch upon, however, continue to press: women’s suffrage, migration, urban planning, and ecology. The exhibition is curated by Brett Littman, director of the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, and its artists include Ghada Amer, Beatriz Cortez, Andy Goldsworthy, Lena Henke, Camille Henrot, and Thaddeus Mosley. Their site-specific works, located throughout Rockefeller Plaza in the open air, are free to all. —E.C.
