Festival Mozaic

July 24–31, 2021
265 South St Suite G, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, United States

Scott Yoo’s composer-biographies-cum-travelogues on the PBS series Now Hear This have brought classical music back to American prime time television for the first time in 50 years. As music director of Festival Mozaic, Yoo shepherds a Happy Few through the unspoiled landscapes of California’s Central Coast for a week of soul-healing music. The Big Baroque Three—Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel—loom large on the playlists, as do Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn, composers of the Romantic era at last emerging from the shadows of the admittedly very talented men in their lives (Clara’s husband Robert, Fanny’s brother Felix). Donors of $100 or more get to book the full package ahead of the general public. Sounds like a steal. —M.G.
